Road ready for Yorke Peninsula

Learning to drive is about far more than passing a test. It’s about building the confidence to handle the roads you’ll travel every day.
For Yorke Peninsula residents, those roads look very different to suburban Adelaide.
Heavy agricultural machinery, wandering wildlife, long stretches of open highway and changing rural conditions all bring challenges that require more than simply learning how to parallel park.
That’s the ethos behind Ignite Driver Training, a locally owned business helping learner drivers develop the practical skills and confidence needed to drive safely around Yorke Peninsula.
Owner and qualified instructor Cory Horsell has lived on the peninsula since 2008 and brings more than 30 years of driving experience, along with a background as a qualified mechanic.
“As a dad to two teenagers, the state’s road statistics hit close to home,” Mr Horsell said.
“I know how important quality driver education is and I wanted to make a positive difference by helping local drivers become safe and confident behind the wheel.”
Convenience is another key focus of the business.
Rather than expecting students to travel long distances, Cory travels throughout Yorke Peninsula, collecting learners from home, school or work before returning them at the end of their lesson.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s experience and focus on real-world driving situations, helping learners build safe driving habits that extend well beyond the VORT assessment.
Ignite Driver Training operates a modern dual-control 2024 Mitsubishi ASX, with every lesson supported by a three-camera recording system providing forward, cabin and rear-facing vision, along with audio and GPS recording. The system provides an objective record of each lesson while enhancing safety for both instructor and student.
Mr Horsell is a member of the Driver Trainer Association of South Australia and holds current Working With Children and National Police clearances.
Bookings are now open.
