Tricia Stringer takes readers to paradise with latest novel

BESTSELLING and multiple award-winning Wallaroo author Tricia Stringer is whisking readers away to a luxury Kimberley resort with the release of her 19th novel, The Paradise Resort.
Local readers will have the chance to celebrate the new release with Mrs Stringer when she launches the novel at Kadina Library on Tuesday evening, September 29.
The launch starts at 6pm, with tickets costing $15 and all proceeds going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Mrs Stringer will also hold a book signing at Ardrossan Newsagency from 1pm to 1.30pm on Wednesday, September 30.
Described as a funny, warm and wise story about the joys and challenges of finding community in unlikely places, The Paradise Resort transports readers to a luxurious resort in the Kimberley.
At the centre of the story is resort manager Nelda, who already has plenty on her plate when Beatrice Foreston, a wealthy friend of the resort’s owner, arrives to recuperate following cancer treatment.
Beatrice needs special attention, some of the resort’s guests are proving particularly difficult and new staff members Kathleen and Omar appear to be out of their depth.
But Nelda has an even bigger problem.
She has heard there is a spy in their midst — someone who could uncover the secret she has been hiding. If it comes to light, it could threaten the resort and the livelihoods of the people who depend on it.
When Kathleen begins investigating something that seems amiss, Nelda is forced to reveal what she has been hiding.
Beatrice, meanwhile, is determined to regain her mojo and joins forces with the women as they try to put things right and save the community they have come to love before it is too late.
It all raises the question: who doesn’t love a luxurious holiday? But even paradise can have an off day.
The Paradise Resort is available now from bookshops, as well as in ebook and audiobook formats.
Mrs Stringer will make further local appearances later in the year, visiting the Port Vincent Senior Citizens Club on December 7, followed by Barunga and Willochra Homes on December 8.
