COPPER Coast Sport and Leisure Centre is excited to announce the opening of a state-of-the-art Pilates reformer studio in early August.
The new studio — featuring 12 Pilates reformer beds, including four with virtual kiosks — is the centre’s largest upgrade since its redevelopment five years ago.
It reflects Belgravia Leisure’s commitment to enhancing health and wellness opportunities for the Copper Coast community.
“We’re introducing reformer Pilates to provide our members with another great workout option that complements our existing health and wellness offerings,” venue manager Giles Ellis said.
“Our goal is to offer an activity for everyone in the community, in an affordable and accessible way.
“Located in the old downstairs group fitness room, upgrades have commenced to ensure the space feels like a modern Pilates studio.
“It’s already been a popular inclusion, and we’ve had a lot of members ask how they can get involved.”
Reformer Pilates is rapidly growing in popularity due to its versatility and effectiveness.
“Reformer Pilates is an incredible strength and mobility workout that has great benefits for everyone,” gym instructor Nicole Fergusson said.
“It’s not just for flexibility; it enhances core strength, posture and overall fitness.
“The beauty of reformer Pilates is that anyone can do it.
“We’re seeing more members embrace this lower-impact exercise as part of their routine — whether they’re athletes, weekend warriors or just looking for a balanced approach to fitness.”
Reformer Pilates is valued for its ability to build strength, improve flexibility and support injury prevention, for all ages and fitness levels.
Class timetables will be released soon, with sessions designed to suit all experience levels.
