WALLAROO’S skies are set to come alive with colour and creativity as the community gathers for the free, family-friendly Wallaroo Kite Festival later this month.
To be hosted by the Copper Coast Council events team on Saturday, October 25, the festival promises a vibrant afternoon of outdoor fun and shared experiences, Copper Coast mayor Roslyn Talbot says.
The event will feature spectacular displays by the Adelaide Kite Flying Association, kite decorating activities for children and a range of food options to enjoy along the foreshore.
Mayor Talbot said the festival reflected the community’s creativity and connection.
“The Wallaroo Kite Festival is about more than flying kites — it’s about bringing people together,” she said.
“It’s a wonderful celebration of community spirit, outdoor fun and the joy of shared experiences.”
In the lead-up to the festival, the Kadina Library hosted a school holiday kite decorating workshop on Thursday, October 9, which drew an enthusiastic turnout of 36 children.
Each participant had the opportunity to design their own kite to take home and fly at the event.
The Wallaroo Kite Festival is open to everyone, with activities designed to inspire imagination and delight all ages.
Whether you’re bringing your own kite or simply coming to enjoy the view, it’s set to be a memorable afternoon on the Copper Coast, Mayor Talbot said.
The free, family-friendly event will be held from 2pm to 5pm at the southern end of North Beach, in front of the Wallaroo Holiday Park.
