HAVE you ever wanted to learn more about electric bikes, or give one a try?

Copper Trails Bike Hire, Moonta, has you covered.

Owners Anne and Colin Minion will host Jakeb Barry, director of E-bike manufacturer DYU Australia, in store from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 20.

Demand and interest in E-bikes has grown since the business opened in January.

“We’ve started selling more E-bikes, as well as other bicycles, and we wanted to hold a day where people could come in, ask questions and go for a test ride,” Anne said.

“DYU and Jakeb have been so supportive of us, they produce a great quality bike which can fold down completely.

“It’s been very popular with people who are travelling as it can just be folded down and put in the car or caravan.

“Now it’s Daylight Saving time and the sun is up for longer, it’s a great chance for people to come and check them out.”

With Christmas fast approaching, the time is now to place any orders.

“There’s a worldwide shortage of bicycles, and what we are seeing is stocks coming in and then being sold incredibly quickly,” Anne said.

“We have also heard of some orders being delayed by a month, so if you’re thinking about it as a present for Christmas or for the summer, you should move soon.”

Copper Trails Bike Hire has recently moved to a new location on the corner of George and Ellen Streets.

“It’s been a great move, it’s given us more space and we’re adapting into more sales and repairs,” Anne said.

“There’s so much opportunity for people to get out, hire a bike and see the region in a different way as well.”
