A 37-year-old woman has died following a serious domestic assault on the Yorke Peninsula earlier this week.
Police were alerted to the incident about 12.30pm after a woman was transported by paramedics to the Wallaroo Hospital on Monday, July 26.
She was then transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life threatening head injuries.
The victim died in hospital on Wednesday, July 28.
Port Pirie Crime Investigation Branch Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
A 58-year-old Yorke Peninsula man was charged with assault causing serious harm on Monday; his charges were upgraded to murder on Thursday, July 29.
He remains in police custody and will front the Adelaide Magistrates Court on February 22, 2022.
