The Yorke Peninsula Wedding and Events Expo is coming to Barley Stacks Wines, Maitland, on Sunday, August 21.

The event is the brainchild of Barley Stacks Wines cellar door and events manager Brooklyn Sims and owner/managing director Lyall Schulz.

“We’d been thinking about it for about five years but, like many things, Covid slowed down our plans,” Brooklyn said.

“This year, we decided we’d give it a crack and we’re really excited by how well received it’s been.”

Attendees will be able to browse 25 exhibitors, featuring everything from cakes to accommodation.

“We really wanted to make sure we had a diverse range of exhibitors and create a one-stop shop for people to visit when planning their wedding or event,” Brooklyn said.

“There are also half a dozen businesses which were not able to attend but their business cards or contact information will be in the goodie bags every person who attends will receive.

“These bags will also feature a booklet of information on the day, which we thought would be beneficial to allow people to have all the contact details of all exhibitors and notes from the event together.
“We will also have door prizes to be won on the day which have been kindly donated by some of our amazing exhibitors.

“The majority of our exhibitors are from YP, while others are based elsewhere travel and work on the YP regularly.

“We’re really lucky to have so many exhibitors based here and we look forward to showcasing Yorke Peninsula.”

Many of the exhibitors don’t have shopfronts, Brooklyn said, so the expo provides attendees the chance to meet potential providers.

“This kind of event gives people the chance to talk without having to take days off work or plan in advance,” she said.

Doors open at noon, with proceedings wrapping up by 4pm.

Tickets are $20 per adult, with a free beer or wine on arrival, and every adult receives a goodie bag, featuring business cards and information about exhibitors and some delicious local treats.

JJ ARV will entertain throughout the day, while food will be available from MBC Foods and Oh My Grill BBQ and Catering.

Barley Stacks Wines and Watsacowie beer, cider and seltzers as well as Sunny Hill Distillery cocktails will also be available to purchase on the day.

Tickets are limited, to book visit trybooking.com/cankw.
