Viterra launches certified traineeship program

VITERRA is offering career development opportunities in regional communities by introducing its own certified traineeship program.

Applicants will start working for the company early next year and earn the opportunity to build their skills sets and gain work experience.

“The two-year program offers full-time paid roles which combine on-the-job training at sites with formal education and is about mentoring and providing support to the trainees to support them through this exciting opportunity,” Viterra general manager HR Alyson Gilbey said.

“Trainees will be able to learn industry skills and qualify for multiple tasks including grain classification, machinery operation, fumigation and grain hygiene, as well as driving front-end loaders and forklifts.”

A total of 12 traineeships are on offer in the Western region (Eyre Peninsula), Central region (Mid and Lower Northern areas and Yorke Peninsula) and Eastern region (Murray Mallee and South-East area).

“The traineeships have been designed to provide trainees the opportunity to gain the new skills and knowledge required to secure a potential long-term role at the end of the program,” Ms Gilbey said.

“We think this is a great way to provide those who feel they have to choose between starting a career or studying the chance to do both.

“We’re really excited about this program and for more people to start a rewarding and diverse career with us.”

Applications close on Sunday, December 4.
