WITH years of experience spreading on their own farm and as a contractor, as well as nearly 20 years of providing precision spreading solutions to SA farmers, Techgrow is your specialist in fertiliser spreading.
Managing director Colin Mitchell purchased his first Bogballe linkage fertiliser spreader for use on the Mid North family farm in 2003, at a time when late in-crop nitrogen application was in its infancy.
The four-tonne weigh cell unit was certainly a foreign concept to many at the time, but the product’s popularity quickly grew throughout the region as its quality, and the benefits of accurate application of Urea late in the growing period become apparent.
Fast forward to 2022, and the evolution of precision fertiliser spreading is plain to see with widespread use and ever-increasing capabilities such as section control and vary rate application.
Throughout this evolution, Techgrow has been at the forefront of the spreading industry, often providing first-to-market innovations and pioneering some of the early crop-sensor technology.
“Techgrow became the national importer of the Danish Bogballe product line in 2012, which has only increased its focus on the industry and its development,” Colin said.
“The Bogballe range has seen some exciting enhancements lately, with dynamic section control developing to a practically stepless 80 sections, and new easy clean features making a quick post-use clean a breeze.
“We are also working closely with Bogballe developing the M60W model, a six-tonne unit with some incredible capabilities.
“Techgrow is also excited to bring to the region the trailed Landaco precision bulk spreaders, which are fully equipped with weigh cells, full variable rate application, ISOBUS connectivity and hydraulic drive.
“We have worked alongside the Wagga Wagga manufacturer to design two trailed spreader models specifically for Yorke Peninsula and the Mid North, being the 11-tonne TD110 and the 15-tonne TD150.
“The Landaco units are extremely well engineered and offer all of the optionality the modern professional farmer has come to love.
“There is currently a stock unit of each of these models in the Clare Dealership, so Techgrow urges the farming community to drop by for a look over them.”
