THE Kadina Show will from this year be called the Copper Coast Show.
Kadina Agricultural, Horticultural and Floricultural Society members decided to rename the show in a bid to make it more marketable.
Society secretary Maxine Tully said there had been a push to make the show as inclusive for the whole region as possible, after a successful return for its 150th event last year.
"We're coming off the back of such a great show last year but we felt the need to attract across the whole Copper Coast area," Mrs Tully said.
"We want to be as representative of the entire area as possible, so we need to push past the old way of looking at the area as three separate towns and rather unify.
"It's something we see so many businesses and community organisations in the region do, come under the banner of the Copper Coast, so why not the show as well.
"There's also a substantial move in this direction because we think it would be much more attractive to those coming from outside the Yorke Peninsula region."
Mrs Tully said despite issues raised by some associated community members, there was no cause for concern regarding the change.
"The majority of people were completely supportive of the idea and those who weren't had genuine worries which we did our best to alleviate," she said.
"People who are worried should remember the society isn't changing its name, only the show itself.
"We made people aware of the change on Facebook and the overwhelming response from members of the community was positive, in fact, it was wonderful to see such support."
When it comes to attractions, everyone's favourites will still be there this year, according to Mrs Tully.
"We'll have show bags and rides this year as well of plenty of new things as well, which is exciting," she said.
"Since we made this announcement, we've had a number of groups contact us, keen to be involved.
"We learned a lot from last year, particularly regarding issues with online ticketing and Covid protocol, whereas this year, we hope to be all over it."
