It was another epic battle for the annual Blue Crab Trophy at Port Broughton Bowling Club on Sunday, September 24.
The showdown between friendly rival clubs Port Broughton and Port Germein was fierce on the green as the visitors brought not only their best game but a box of tools to prise the prestigious shield off the wall.
Seven rinks battled through two games of 10 ends with Port Germein dominating to win, 147 to 122.
Port Germein club secretary Gordon Kroschel took great pleasure in ripping the shield away from Port Broughton vice-president and tournament organiser Jeff Barnes.
Port Broughton had won the previous two encounters and players thought they had a fair grip on retaining the trophy but Port Germein proved to be too strong.
Port Broughton will hope to avenge this defeat next year at Port Germein.
The match has become a traditional warm-up to the upcoming pennants season for both clubs.
