PLANNING is well underway for Moonta Health and Aged Care Services’ expansion.

A total of nine new aged care beds will be added to the Parkview service at Moonta, according to general manager Alison Clare.

“The board and management have been planning the building expansion due to the demands of the local community,” she said.

“Work will begin in 2023 and bookings are being taken for people looking to secure one of the new, larger rooms which will be equipped with all the latest technology.

“We cater for couples who want to remain together with dedicated large double rooms.”

Parkview Community Care is also now able to service most of Yorke Peninsula and as far as Port Pirie, Balaklava and even the outskirts of Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

“The inclusion of Registered Nurses into the team allows us now to provide nursing care including wound management, pain management and other specialist nursing care as required by our clients,” Alison said.

“The friendly home care team can offer everything from home and garden services like cleaning, laundry, shopping and bill payment, home cooked meals and garden maintenance, as well as personal care.”

Parkview Community Care manager Deb Adams said staff will tailor care and services to meet their clients’ needs and goals.

“If home is where your heart is, we can help you stay there as long as you are able,” she said.

“Many people tell us they want to stay living in their own homes for as long as possible.

“At the heart of wanting to remain living at home is the sense of being in control; however, as we age there can be some challenges.”

Deb said, while many challenges can be overcome with the assistance of family and friends, this isn’t always possible.

“That’s where Parkview can assist,” she said.

“We see the support we offer as a way of taking away the worry, so you can get back to doing the things you love.

“Whether you need support to attend medical appointments, social outings to get you out and about or assistance accessing allied health services, we’re here for you.

“We can even provide nursing services and access to aids and equipment such as walking sticks, electric recliner chairs and beds.

“And, when the time comes you need a break, we offer respite and permanent care all from the one facility.”
