No spark in this rom com

IF you need something on in the background while you’re scrolling your phone, then I have the perfect movie for you. 

Now streaming on Netflix, Your Place or Mine is your standard romantic comedy featuring Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon as the leads, with ultimately not much spark at all. 

You can predict the ending a mile away, so it is the perfect movie to watch when you don’t really want to watch anything at all. 

Witherspoon and Kutcher play best friends who swap houses for a week, go through the standard ups and downs, see other people and fight and make up, all before realising they were in love with each other the entire time. 

Did I just spoil the movie? Maybe. But you’re not really going to watch it. Right? 

It did boast a great cast, which may have made it even more disappointing but nonetheless I did say it was a typical rom com so what else could we expect?  

I think it might be time romantic comedies were given a bit of a shake up or maybe the genre writers need to lift their game to reinvent the wheel. 

Rotten Tomatoes gave this film a 31 per cent rating... I might go 32 (per cent) just to be nice. 

Give me The Notebook any day!
