APPLICATIONS are open for the 2022-23 Yorke Peninsula Council Community Grants program.

The program provides financial grants to community groups and not-for-profit organisations which provide a benefit to the wider community of the Yorke Peninsula Council region.

Mayor Darren Braund said council is committed to developing the region by providing funding opportunities through the annual scheme.

"Council is focused on building on our strengths and working together to shape a sustainable future for current and future generations," Mr Braund said.

"Council continually seeks innovative ways to engage and support our community and improve the quality of life on Yorke Peninsula.

"We aim to build and strengthen local networks within the community and encourage partnerships.

"These partnerships facilitate the effective use of community resources and encourage sustainability of services and programmes to benefit the whole community."

YPC has made $100,000 available for distribution to community groups and not-for-profit organisations across Yorke Peninsula.
