BACKDROP INTO HISTORY... The 2025 Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival brought colour and culture to the northern Yorke Peninsula last week, drawing an estimated 30,000 visitors. Among the highlights was the Moonta Stret Fer (Street Fair) in Queen Square on Friday, May 16, where local schoolchildren and others performed the iconic Furry Dance, among other entertainment. The week-long celebration of the area’s Cornish and copper mining heritage was made possible through the dedication of the organising committee and tireless community volunteers. PHOTO: Rod Penna
