ALL lanes through Port Wakefield will be open from 7am tomorrow (Friday, September 30).
"As part of the 124.5 million Port Wakefield Overpass and Highway Duplication Project, Port Wakefield Highway will be open to traffic in its upgraded configuration," a Port Wakefield to Port Augusta Alliance spokesperson said.
"Two lanes will be open to traffic travelling along Port Wakefield Highway towards Port Augusta and Yorke Peninsula while right turns into and out of North Street, John Street and White Street will not be permitted, with only left turns available and a one-way service road to access businesses on the western side of Port Wakefield Highway will be open to traffic.
"Another two lanes will be open to traffic travelling southbound along Port Wakefield Highway towards Adelaide.
"Speed restrictions will be in place on the newly resurfaced sections of road, as time is required for the pavements to settle and grip to reach required levels."
The spokesperson said works on the Augusta Highway Duplication Project (Port Wakefield to Lochiel) continue, north from the new overpass.
"Please observe speed limits, lane restrictions and traffic controllers when travelling through the area," they said.
"Signage will be in place to alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.
"Some delays may be experienced until the project is complete.
"Please take extra care when workers are on site."
