New stop for a top drop

ARTHURTON Hotel owner Gary Maxwell is encouraging locals and visitors to drop in and check out the changes.

The pub has an extensive dining menu and is also gaining a reputation for its fresh pizzas since re-opening its doors in August.

“We’ve had some pretty great support from the community, but also we’re getting a lot of people from surrounding towns as well,” Gary said.

“I saw the pub was for sale, decided to buy it and move down here from Queensland. “We spent about three months renovating it and bringing it back up to standard.”

Gary said the pub prides itself on the freshness of its pizzas, with the bases made on site, and was excited to offer delivery to select areas.

"We do takeaway options for the whole dining menu and the pizzas and they can also be ordered via the Here U Go app.

“Delivery is also available for those in Ardrossan, Price, Port Clinton, Pine Point and Arthurton through the app.”

The Arthurton Hotel’s dining room is open for lunch from Thursday to Sunday, and Wednesday to Saturday for dinner.

Once a month, the Arthurton Hotel will host local and visiting bands with Mother Truckers performing on Sunday, November 14, and Outback Overdrive playing on Sunday, December 19.

“It’s been a tough year for local musicians, they haven’t really been able to travel for work so we wanted to give them a space to play,” Gary said.

“It’s always great to have some live music and when we don’t have bands, we have already had a few DJ days as well.”
