MOONTA and District Progress Association members are always working hard for the community.

The association currently has about 80 members across various groups with 10 people forming the overarching committee.

“A lot of our members are involved in the community shed while we also have groups involved in Victoria Park, Polgreen Park, McCauley Park and the town beautification group,” vice-president Pamela Kerr said.

“We are always looking for new members to join progress, and our committee.

“We are an active group, there’s something for everyone.

“Progress has an art committee which is working on restoring murals around the town and creating other community art projects.”

The progress association also holds an annual show ‘n’ shine to raise money for its Christmas activities, which will be back at the town oval this year.

Members of progress have also been deeply involved in the official Sir Richard Williams RAAF Centenary Celebrations this Sunday, November 7.

Progress contributed financially to the statue fund and are named on the sponsor plaque.

“Graham Sobey and I were part of the committee from the beginning and it’s been so wonderful to see it get to this point,” Pamela said.

“It’s taken a lot of work from the committee but we’re proud to be here.”
