Minlaton 150 — Moments. Memories. Milestones.

IF the Minlaton 150 celebrations could be summed up in one way, it would be like piecing together a giant jigsaw.
The celebrations were held over three days — Friday to Sunday, March 27-29.
At times, there were pieces everywhere, and moments where it was hard to see how it would all come together. And then... it did.

Nine events with multiple moving parts and activities with run sheets. Three very full days.
Piece by piece, person by person, it all clicked into place to create something very special.
What unfolded wasn’t just a program of events — it was Minlaton at its absolute best. Welcoming, generous, proud, and quietly getting things done.

Since wrapping up, there have been plenty of messages, emails, and conversations — from locals, visitors, and even Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, who described the 150th celebrations as exceptional.
Heather Venning summed it up beautifully:
“Congratulations to you and your team on a fantastic celebration... it was well organised with so much to see and do and was great to catch up with many people we hadn’t seen for a while — you should all be proud of the way it all turned out,” she said.

To our sponsors — thank you for backing the vision and helping bring it to life.
Our First Street Sponsors — Minlaton Foodland, GSS Hoyle & Co, Atkins Freight Service, Koolyhill Ag Services, Colin Kalleske, Kingsway Welding, Hamilton Transport, and the Minlaton District & Community Club — laid the foundation.
Alongside them, our in-kind First Street Sponsors — YorKreation Garden Centre, Benbows of Minlaton, Redding Crushing and Watsacowie Brewing Company — added those extra touches that really elevated the experience.
Our Second Street Sponsors — Minlaton Discounters, Nivek Pty Ltd (Mignon Wortley), and Litster Trading.

We also acknowledge the many organisations that proudly supported Minlaton 150. — including Nufarm Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal, AGL, the Government of South Australia (Department of Primary Industries & Regions), South Australian Tourism Commission, History Trust of South Australia, Yorke Peninsula Council, Harvest Corner, Minlaton and District Progress Association, Minlaton and District Business Group, Harry Butler Commemorative Committee, Crop Smart, Minlaton Weight Watchers, Foodland Community Chest, and the Minlaton Taekwondo Club.
A special thank you also to Pioneer Printing Office for its in-kind support.
And to the hundreds of individuals who contributed to the $150 for 150 Years campaign — a true reflection of community spirit.
To the Minlaton 150 Committee — you were the glue that held it all together.
This wasn’t just a few meetings and a busy weekend — it was nearly three years of planning, thousands and thousands of volunteer hours, countless meetings, conversations and decisions, all working toward one goal: delivering something meaningful for the community.
To our volunteers — thank you for showing up across the entire three-day celebration.
From gatekeepers to fireworks exclusion zone marshals, way finders and everything in between, you stepped into roles big and small and kept everything running smoothly. Your willingness to jump in wherever needed made a real difference.
A special mention to our hospitality helpers during the Gala Evening — and in particular our young emerging community leaders who stepped up in a big way. You helped keep the event flowing, you also jumped in to support our food truck vendors across the weekend when they were short on staff.
To our sporting clubs, community organisations, and faith and church communities — thank you for helping bring the story of Minlaton to life in such a meaningful and inclusive way.
To our local businesses — you embraced this milestone wholeheartedly — from beautifully dressed shop windows to some of you going all in and dressing yourselves in 150-year-old style.
And finally, to our community — thank you for turning up. For participating, celebrating, and creating memories that will stay with us for years to come.
