The final straw for single-use plastics

THE sale, supply and distribution of single-use plastics will be banned in South Australia from next year.

Laws prohibiting products like straws, cutlery and beverage stirrers passed state parliament earlier this month.

The state government announced its intention to make the move last year and a draft of the legislation was put out for consultation.
