For people who have had to evacuate from, or are unable to access their principal place of residence and unable to meet immediate and essential needs. Apply in person at the Yorketown Town Hall Relief Centre, 8am to 6pm. A decision will be made late next week whether staff will remain in the area and move to the next stage, a recovery centre.
A one-off emergency government grant to assist with immediate, temporary relief — $280 per adult and $140 per child to a maximum of $700 per family. Paid via ATM card to meet essential items such as food, clothing, toiletries and medication. Available at the Yorketown Relief Centre.
Disaster Recovery Payment
A $1000 payment for eligible adults, and $400 for eligible children. For those who have lost their income as a direct result of the bushfires, the federal government will provide up to 13 weeks of income support via the Disaster Recovery Allowance.
