Council urges state gov to help pay for rubbish

YORKE Peninsula Council mayor Darren Braund wants the state government to bear some of the cost of removing rubbish from Marion Bay.

Mr Braund said a government policy to remove and restrict the number of bins in Innes National Park had caused an increase in rubbish being placed in bins in Marion Bay.

During holiday periods council places a skip bin at the boat ramp, increases the number of bins in the area from 10 to 14 and collects them twice per week.
