Police to enforce new rules

SOUTH Australia Police will conduct proactive random checks on venues and businesses affected by COVID-19 restrictions.

Officers will initially concentrate efforts on major entertainment precincts but will use intelligence to identify other venues and business types which are also impacted by the social-gathering restrictions.

Failure to comply with the direction is an offence with a maximum penalty of $20,000 per individual or $75,000 for a company.
