GM ban has been lifted ... for now

THE state government has introduced new regulations allowing South Australian farmers to grow genetically-modified crops from January 1.

Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Tim Whetstone said the move would allow farmers to make decisions ahead of the 2020 growing season.

“The Marshall Liberal Govern­ment is standing with our farmers to lift the GM moratorium on mainland South Australia,” he said.
