BURNT OUT... Several houses in Price were centimetres away from being burned to the ground but a massive effort from fire crews ensured that didn’t happen.
EXTREME heat and ferocious winds spurred a bushfire along the Yorke Highway, threatening Price and heading for Tiddy Widdy Beach and Ardrossan, last Wednesday, November 20.
Nearly 30 resources and five aircraft were sent to Price, where crews battled to contain fires right up to one home’s doorstep.
The fire caused the highway to be closed as temperatures reached 41.2 degrees Celsius, accompanied by wind gusts of up to 60km/h.
