No snap decision made as snapper ban put on hold

A PLAN to ban snapper fishing from October 1 has been put on hold.

Both proposals put forward by the state government to replenish the ­decimated snapper population involved closing all Yorke Peninsula waters to snapper fishing from October until 2023.

However, after receiving 913 submissions from across the state during public consultation, Minister for Primary Industries Tim Whetstone has delayed making a decision.
