A RESOLUTION calling for changes to the Mining Act to give greater protection to farmers when dealing with exploration and mining companies looking to access their land has been passed at state level by Liberal Party members.
After being initially put forward at a Farmers’ Forum at Maitland last September, the motion was presented at the Liberal Party State Council’s annual general meeting on Sunday, August 18.
It was proposed by Maitland businessman Malcolm Eglinton, and seconded by Graham Mattschoss, of Sandilands.
