WITH an ever-changing selection of quality produce, Coffin Bay Seafood Centre, Port Wakefield, is more than just a seafood centre.

The Port Wakefield storefront is an extension of the Coffin Bay Oyster Farm, established by Lester Marshall in 1997.

“With a passion for his product, Lester realised an opportunity to offer residents on Yorke Peninsula, visitors and travellers passing through Port Wakefield a unique experience,” a centre spokesperson said.

“Getting the project up and running was no mean feat, but with the support of his family and the farm staff, he opened up his first flagship centre in Port Wakefield.

“Coffin Bay Oysters and local fishermen now provide quality oysters, abalone, prawns, crayfish, varieties of fish, pickled and smoked products, sauces and spices and bait direct to the public.”

Located on 2 East Street, part of the main road through the town, Coffin Bay Seafood Centre is centrally located for anyone on the arterial road.

“You can stop by on your way to or from your destination and shop with ease,” the spokesperson said.

“Seafood platters can be made to order, or if you are in a hurry, you can purchase online and click and collect.”

Coffin Bay Seafood Centre, Port Wakefield, employs six local casual staff as well as store manager Sia Mackay.

“Sia has first-hand experience from working at the oyster farm out on the lease, harvesting the oysters on to the boat, grading, packing and sorting to delivering the range into the store,” the spokesperson said.

“With Sia’s experience in hospitality, retail and customer service, she brings with her a passion to create a seasonally changing menu for customers to experience in our unique oyster bar.”

Coffin Bay Seafood Centre has something for everyone, from pet treats to a grab and go menu, oyster Kilpatrick pizza and even pickled yabbies.

The store is open 10am to 5pm, seven days a week, with seasonal extended trading hours on long weekends, Christmas and private events.
