STAR of the Sea Community Care is celebrating 15 years of servicing the community later this year.

Community Care, based in Wallaroo, has continued to grow as a business during that time, providing personalised care to clients in the Copper Coast, Yorke Peninsula and Port Pirie.

The caring and compassionate team offers quality services to our clients in their own homes whilst maintaining dignity and respect.

“We offer Home Care Packages from level one to four for clients who would like to remain in their homes for as long as possible,” Community Care general manager Mel King said.

“Star of the Sea Community Care also provides Veterans’ Home Care services and private services to those clients who haven’t received a package through My Aged Care or need some short-term assistance.

“We are here to help people remain in their homes for as long as they possibly can.”

The Community Care team can provide nursing and clinical care, as well as personal care, medication prompting, gardening, home maintenance, domestic assistance, social support and transport services.

“We pride ourselves on our palliative care services where we can meet clients’ wishes to pass away in their own homes with dignity and their families by their side,” Mel said.

Peggy Rollins is one of Community Care’s many new clients and has nothing but praise for the services she has received.

“Thank you for being so caring and organising everything so quickly and sending such lovely ladies,” Peggy’s advocate Mary said.

“I know you will be with her every step of the way.”

If you’d like to learn more about how Star of the Sea Community Care can

help you, the team is holding an information afternoon from 2pm to 3.30pm in the Wallaroo Catholic Church social area on Thursday, November 17.

“It will be a general information session for potential clients and their families about home care, aged care and what Star of the Sea Community Care can offer,” Mel said.

“Free tea, coffee and afternoon tea will be available.”
