THE staff of Parkview Aged and Home Care at Moonta are being hailed as unsung heroes to mark Aged Care Employee Day.
Chief executive Michael Powell says the special day is an opportunity to recognise their unwavering commitment to the community’s most vulnerable members.
“It’s about acknowledging the emotional and physical demands of their roles, celebrating their skill and expertise, and expressing our collective gratitude
for their tireless efforts,”
Mr Powell said.
“In an era where the demands on aged care professionals are ever-increasing, the staff at Parkview are a testament to compassion, resilience, and true professionalism.”
Every member of the Parkview team, from personal care workers and nurses to chefs, cleaners, administrative staff, and lifestyle coordinators, played a role in creating a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment for residents and clients.
“They have the hands that offer comfort, the ears that listen patiently, the voices that provide reassurance, and the hearts that genuinely care,” he said.
Mr Powell said the staff ensured that there were many small, but significant, acts of kindness each day within Parkview’s walls and in the homes of Home Care clients.
“It’s the gentle assistance with a meal, the shared laugh over a cup of tea, the attentive support during a difficult moment, or the creative activities that bring joy and connection,” he said.
“These are not merely tasks; they are expressions of a deep-seated commitment to the wellbeing and dignity of each resident and client.”
Mr Powell said Aged Care Employee Day was more than just a date on the calendar.
“It’s an opportunity to recognise the team’s unwavering commitment to our community’s most vulnerable members and a vital reminder of their essential work,” he said.
“If you know someone who works there, perhaps offer a word of thanks or a small gesture of appreciation.
“For the rest of us, let this day be a catalyst for renewed respect and recognition for these unsung heroes.”
