A touch of Americana at Fat G’s

FAT G’s, located in the forecourt of the Drake’s Shopping Centre at 2 Owen Terrace, Wallaroo, is turning up the heat this Saturday, September 20, hosting an American-style barbecue pop-up from 4pm to 8pm.

The event is a thank you to the local community.

During the long blackout in March, the Fat G’s team set up a barbecue to provide hot meals to residents who couldn’t cook.

The support from the community was overwhelming, and many locals asked if it would happen again.

So, in true community spirit, the owners are doing just that — this time with a US-inspired twist.

Teaming up with Mr Brisket, a new local food business looking to make its mark, Fat G’s is showing its commitment to supporting emerging talent while giving the community something exciting and different.

The pop-up will feature a smoky selection of American barbecue favourites, including ribs, brisket, pulled pork and beef, and Fat G’s own house-made sausages.

These hearty mains will be served alongside classic American-style side dishes and a new American barbecue pizza — all dished up in the traditional tray presentation you’d expect at a US smokehouse, and all at affordable prices.

Adding to the atmosphere, a smoker will be running throughout the day, giving visitors the chance to see how the low-and-slow cooking process works.

And, for an extra hit of local flavour, live music from Pigsy will keep the vibe going into the evening.

Come along to enjoy great food, live tunes and a chance to support local businesses doing good in the community.

See Fat G’s Facebook page for full details of its Americana barbecue night.
