Ford Ranger tops the charts

FOR the first time since 1995, a Ford has taken the number one spot on the Australian sales charts.

Almost 63,360 new Ford Rangers were delivered across the country, making it the nation’s most popular car in a record year for new vehicle deliveries.

Designed and engineered by Ford’s Australian team in Melbourne and Geelong, the Ranger was also named Drive’s Car of the Year, another great accolade.

“The Ranger has redefined the ute segment globally,” Ford Australia president and CEO Andrew Birkic said.

“It’s transformed a work vehicle into one which can be used by just about anyone for anything.

“We see our customers take it to the most extreme off-road locations and then see them parking in tight city streets, unloading their groceries and kids.

“A Ranger is a do-everything, go-everywhere vehicle.”

Rosewarne’s Kadina owner Tom Rosewarne said availability of some model lines of the Ranger have started to free up.

“In some cases, we are now able to deliver immediately with a few demos ready to go also,” he said.
