YORKE Peninsula’s premier new art festival, GROUNDED YP Art Festival, is now accepting entries in open and school categories for paintings, sculptures and photography.

Keen artists, sculptors and photographers of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to submit their works before the cut-off time of midnight Friday, July 7.

Each person can submit up to three pieces in the open category for $20 per work, with the art to be displayed for sale and judging during the week-long GROUNDED festival, August 11-20.

All works are eligible for prizes, including the major prizes of $5000 for each of fine art, sculpture and photography.

Entries in the school category are free and can be made available for sale at the artists’ discretion (20 per cent commission applies to all sales).

“GROUNDED expands upon the traditional exhibitions and competitions with a full week of festivities which are being finalised,” a festival spokesperson said.

“This includes artist workshops, which locals can now register to host.

“These workshops will allow people to spread awareness of their art, share their knowledge and skills with attendees, and make money through ticket sales.

“Workshop hosts can use their own venues, or can speak with GROUNDED organisers to secure a space.”

Workshop registrations close this Friday, June 23.

The festival will also include special events, live music, local art, Nharangga culture and food, and much more.

An open invitation to be a GROUNDED sponsor

LOCAL businesses and community organisations are invited to partner with GROUNDED YP Art Festival and help make the event a great success.

A wide range of attractive sponsorship packages are available to suit all budgets, each option offering extensive promotion at the festival and in official publications such as the exhibition catalogue.

“We welcome all sponsors, big or small, to come on board and show their support for the arts on Yorke Peninsula,” Yorke Peninsula Council and Country Arts SA Art and Cultural Facilitator Sonya Rankine said.

“We are working hard to put on the best event possible, and the more support we receive from sponsors, the more festivities we will be able to provide.”
