MEMBERS of seven regional South Australian rock ‘n’ roll dance clubs converged on Edithburgh for a weekend get-together recently.
The first event was an evening dinner dance at the Edithburgh Bowling Club on Friday, November 18.
This was topped off with a dance extravaganza at the Edithburgh Institute on Saturday night, November 19.
Award-winning DJ Ron (Ron Adamic) blasted out classic rock ‘n’ roll dance tracks from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s.

Dancers hit the floor to songs like the Cha-cha-cha, Swing, Jail House Rock, through to more traditional partner favourites such as the Military Two Step, Waltz and line dancing.
More than 100 rockers enjoyed their weekend at Edithburgh, coming from clubs as far away as the Riverland (River Rock Dance Club), Yankalilla (Seaside Rockers), Nuriootpa (Valley Rockers), Southern Adelaide (Southern Soles), Adelaide (Legends), Waikerie Rockers and Libby Knight’s dance friends group.
Thank you to event organisers Dawn and Trevor Pendle from the Riverland club, and our own Sonja Fowles and Nola O’Connell for making the weekend such a special events for visitors and locals alike.
