PLANS are coming together for the first My Life Choices Regional Ageing, Disability and Lifestyle Expo in Kadina, on Thursday, July 7.
The expo will bring local service providers and businesses together with the community to provide information and support for those navigating the aged and disability sectors.
Regional Disability, Ageing and Lifestyle Expo is driven by the Catalyst Foundation in partnership with Community Care and Transport, Legatus Group and Copper Coast Council.
Catalyst Foundation CEO Jenny Hughes said the expo will provide community connection.
“Often you find people live in a town and do not know what services or groups are around to help them,” she said.
“That’s where we come in.
“By bringing them all together, we’re helping people find the information they need and engage with services or providers. It’s creating an opportunity for people to network as well.”
Catalyst Foundation started its life as Seniors Information Service nearly 30 years ago, Ms Hughes said.
“Our whole reason for being is helping people understand what their choices are, then they can make their own decisions,” she said.
“We recognise it’s not always possible to get to Adelaide for expos like this, so we’re excited to do this.
“Already we have representatives from the independent living sector, disability advocacy organisations, veteran services and digital literacy.
“There will also be representatives from disability and aged care training and employment providers.”
