Body found at Port Hughes

Police are preparing a report for the State Coroner following a suspected drowning at Port Hughes yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, March 15).

Local patrols and paramedics were called to the foreshore opposite Dowling Drive after a member of the public reported a body in shallow water.

The body of an 83-year-old man from the Copper Coast was discovered just after 4.30pm.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
