A body was found near Curramulka amid a manhunt for alleged murder suspect Kevin Jewell, on Thursday, November 23.
Major Crime Detectives declared the death of his wife Jodie Jewell as a murder, believed to have been committed between 6-6.10pm on Tuesday, November 21.
"Following information from a member of the public, police attended the intersection of Boundary and Brooke Roads, Curramulka about 11.30am this morning, Thursday 23 November, and located the suspect’s white 2008 Mitsubishi Triton ute," a SA Police statement said.
"A search found the man deceased about 150 metres away.
"The man is believed to be 55-year-old Kevin Jewell, wanted by police in relation to the murder of 55-year-old, Jodie Jewell at their Modbury North home on Tuesday.
"There are no suspicious circumstances.
"Police thank the public for their assistance in relation to this matter."
Police were called to a house on Kelly Road, Modbury North, to check on the welfare of Ms Jewell at 7pm on Tuesday, and located the 55-year-old deceased as a result of a gunshot wound.
It was understood Mr Jewell left the scene in a white Mitsubishi Triton with the registration XTN167, which was later sighted five kilometres south of Port Wakefield.
Police searched a Whyalla home belonging to the estranged aunt and uncle of Mr Jewell, earlier on Thursday, November 23.
Police will undertake a coronial investigation into the man's death.
