Babirra to hold 62nd field day and auction

THE Farrow family will hold their 62nd annual field day and auction at Babirra Poll Merino and Dohne Stud, Stansbury, on Tuesday, August 15.

“The 30 Poll Merino Rams we will offer for auction this year will again have Australian Sheep Breeding Values from Sheep Genetics Australia,” Lynda Farrow said.

“This keeps with the dual-purpose features for which our paddock-reared sheep are renowned.”

This year’s sale team will include progeny sired by Moorundie Park, Babirra, Glenlea Park and new progeny from Leahcim.

“Babirra purchased the Leahcim ram, which has an extremely bold crimp with a correct density to form soft supple skins in our future breeding, in 2021,” Lynda said.

The stud’s Poll Merino Ram Auction will be held immediately after the 22nd Dohne Ram Auction. 

“The 60 Dohne rams on offer will have the continued Australian Sheep Breeding Values from Sheep Genetics Australia, to help clients select the right rams for their needs,” Lynda said.

“Here at Babirra, we continue with our Dohne AI program, sourcing top genetics from other studs throughout Australia.

“The Dohne sale team this year will include progeny from Babirra, Chirniminup (Western Australia) and Koobelup (WA).”

All rams are paddock reared, Brucellosis Free Accredited and OJD-MN3v Approved Vaccinated.

The stud’s on-property field day and auction will be held on Tuesday, August 15; inspection from 9am, auction at 11am.

The pre-sale inspection day will be held 10am to 4pm, on Tuesday, August 8.
