RECLINK Australia will be providing accessible fun for everyone at the Copper Coast Sport and Leisure Centre, Kadina, on Monday, July 11, and Kadina Showgrounds on Tuesday, July 12.
Sports Coordinator Taygan Beaton said a One Culture coach will host a come and try Pickleball event and carnival on Monday.
“Pickleball is an accessible sport on its way to tennis,” Taygan said.
“The nets are lower, we swap out heavy racquets for light paddles, and the balls are easier to hold, hit and bounce.
“If you are already a Pickleball pro, come and play a game; for the rest of us beginning, free coaching sessions start at 11am.”
A bike ride experience will be held at the Kadina Showgrounds grandstand building from 10am on Tuesday.
“Freedom Wheels is a walk and roll event for the whole family; “we’ve got child and adult-sized trikes for anyone who may have issues balancing on a bike,” Taygan said.
“If you use a wheelchair, or have a trike or bike you can ride, bring it along!”
Reclink Australia provides evidence-based sport and art programs to disadvantaged Australians.
“We create socially inclusive, life-changing opportunities,” Taygan said.
“In partnership with more than 500 community organisations, Reclink Australia’s programs create pathways to improve health and wellbeing, education and employment outcomes for all participants.
“There is no other social inclusion program in Australia with the reach and impact that Reclink Australia’s model currently has.”
Taygan said Reclink was keen to meet more people and organisations in the area.
“We are putting on a fun, two-day, family event to introduce ourselves to Kadina so we can hear about what you have been up to and what you would like to see from us,” she said.
