ON behalf of the Cousin Jennies on the Copper Coast Red Hatters group, I would like to thank the management and staff of the Royal Hotel in Moonta for catering and providing approximately 60 of us with a fantastic meal and a great venue on Saturday, February 16, to celebrate my 50th birthday (Friday, January 25).
Also Ros Northey, who made and decorated the cakes in our group’s colours, we all thank you very much; they were delicious and looked exquisite.
After the festivities at the hotel were over, a few of us decided to head over to Cafe Capella’s, also in Moonta, for cappuccinos and milkshakes as the day was warm; this number soon ended up around 20.
Even though we had not given any advance notice, as we usually do being a large group, we just settled in to await our coffee and shakes as the party mood continued with us chatting amongst ourselves.
We were ably served by Bec, who recognised most of us as locals, with some out-of-town guests, some from as far afield as Adelaide.
Bec was assisted by co-worker Hayley who pitched in to help with the unexpected workload.
Our guests had nothing but favourable remarks about the friendliness from all the people they met in Moonta and the excellent food and service they received.
It’s easy sometimes to forget how lucky we are to live where we do and I recommend we support local businesses every chance we get.
