Port Road

IN regards to the Port Road no parking feedback. I understand it was an important exercise for the District Council of the Copper Coast to trial a no-parking zone along Port Road during the harvest period, as it has been a very dangerous parking area since the medical centre and their associated businesses have moved in.

However, the problem with removing the Port Road parking has extended into other nearby areas and the parking problems for all businesses/customers/residents involved has not been solved by this trial.

My disappointment is the DCCC has invited people to express their concerns via their website and there are no options to choose to disagree with their experiment.

All options are in favour of the trial being successful, and it is mandatory to choose one of these to voice any further opinion.

Therefore, if the DCCC uses these results to advise the community there is a “positive, overwhelming support” towards their survey, they will fail to tell the public their answers to the survey have been weighted towards a positive outcome because they have not left any other option for the public to choose.

Businesses, residents, customers and employees have been affected by the no-parking zone, but the DCCC has not made a realistic avenue for people to voice their true opinion. If you are affected in any way, please continue to voice your opinion as otherwise it will be too late to complain.
