I WOULD like to have my say re the article in the Country Times (24-1-12) about the Ardrossan boat ramp.
My husband and I have previously written to the council about the poor conditions of the Ardrossan boat ramp.

The first letter was in March 2010, whereby my husband received a phone call from a council officer; the officer said he would look into the complaints but to no avail.

The second letter was sent in March 2011 and stated the northern lane still had deceptive hidden drop offs at the end of the concrete.

The sandbar formed inside the breakwater, resulting in boats needing to be dragged through by foot at low tides in the masses of seaweed — it is so thick.

The levy has risen in cost, plus ramp fees or permits.

We received a reply to say the council is open for any suggestions; we emailed our suggestions to council but didn’t even receive a reply.

The Ardrossan boat ramp is urgently in need of many repairs.
