EARLY December the government put a hold on releasing the draft proposals for marine sanctuaries in SA. This was to allow for more consultation.
I believe your local communities should know that, while this in place, conservation groups are going hard in metro Adelaide collecting pro marine sanctuary signatures.
These are being sourced from members of the public who have little knowledge of the implication of large marine sanctuaries and how they will affect coastal communities.
Thousands of signatures are being collected from street walkers, stalls at major events like Womad, riding on the back of the Port Adelaide by-election, et cetera.
You need to contact the minister and tell him this is not acceptable!
