Saturday was the first time the Northern Yorke Peninsula Bowling Association open competition heat rule has been properly tested.
Divisions I and III games that had reached the nominated 60 ends before 38 degrees Celsius was reached were declared null and void as the higher percentage of games were stopped due to the high temperature.
Everyone knew the heat was going to play a big part in the day’s games.
