YPFL... Under 17s take the crown

REPORTER: Dennis Green

The Landmark Cup had the perfect start for Yorke Peninsula Football League with two wins in the under 17s to take the junior crown at Gladstone on Saturday.

YPFL defeated Northern Areas Football Association 7.5 (47) to 3.1 (19) in the opening game. YP started well and surprised NAFA with its pace and efficiency coming out of defence, and it was not surprising to see YP take a 3.3 to 2.1 lead into the break.

A four-goal-to-one second half left NAFA standing still as YP ran away for a solid 28-point win and a place in the final.
