Sports and recreational organisations across South Australia can now apply for more than $7million in funding through the recent restructure of grant programs by the state government.
The Sport and Recreation Development and Inclusion Program (SRDIP) and the Sport and Recreation Sustainability Program (SRSP) have both been open for applications since Tuesday, February 7.

“These programs are the first to be made available to the sport and recreation sector after last year’s grants review resulting in sporting organisations having greater and easier access to funding under new arrangements,” Minister for Recreation and Sport Tom Kenyon said.

“The $4.07m SRDIP provides financial assistance to support eligible organisations and projects which improve organisational performance, develop new or improved participation programs and support talented athletes, club development and volunteer management initiatives.

“Also open for application is the $3.1m SRSP which provides financial support for the leadership role and services provided by sporting and active recreation organisations and industry representative bodies.”

Closing date for applications is Monday, March 26.

Member for Goyder Steven Griffiths has indicated he is happy to write letters of support for local sport and recreation groups.
