The Yorke Valley Amateur Basketball Association women won the South Australian Senior Country Basketball Championship on the weekend.
Competing in the A grade, the team dropped only one game against Port Augusta before facing Mount Gambier in the grand final at Wayville.
Using superior rebounding and outside shooting ability, and utilising aggressive defence, the Yorkers won the final by 10 points.
Arthurton’s Isabelle Daniel was named the carnival’s most valuable player whilst Georgie Garrard, of Bears, won best on court in the final.
