Wakefield Regional Council CEO Jason Kuchel said there would be economical and safety benefits to increasing some rural roads back to 110km/h.

Advocating for return to 110km/h

WAKEFIELD Regional Council will advocate for rural speed limits to be returned to 110km/h.

Increasing the limit to 110km/h throughout parts of the Wakefield region would be expected to make it more appealing for motorists to use the alternate route from the Copper Coast to Adelaide, via Lochiel.

This could ease traffic congestion at peak times and bring more people into the Wakefield region.
