- 1. Understand the energy efficiency of your appliances and the “power guzzlers” that could be impacting your usage. Power guzzlers include clothes dryers, vacuums, hair dryers, swimming pool pumps, microwaves, electric kettles, large refrigerators, dishwashers and irons.
- 2. Consider the times of day you are using power at home and the impact heating, cooling and hot water systems may be having throughout day. Things like time-of-use pricing and off-peak hot water could help manage costs.
