Proposed changes for residential property managers

THE state government has proposed implementing a registration system for residential property managers to weed out dodgy operators.

“Tenants should be able to rent and landlords rent out a property, secure in the knowledge a qualified, professional property manager will act properly,” Minister for Consumer and Business Services John Rau said.

“The proposed changes will offer better protection to both tenants and landlords and the code of conduct will ensure the industry is held to a clear, high standard.
